  • Jane App: For appointment booking, client records, and billing. Jane App is a Canadian company that stores data in Canada and complies with PHIPA and PIPEDA.
  • Secure Video Platform: For virtual therapy sessions, using encrypted, healthcare-compliant video conferencing.
  • Payment Processors: For secure payment processing (credit card, e-transfer).

We carefully select third-party providers that maintain appropriate privacy and security standards for healthcare information.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your personal information, including:

  • Encrypted storage of electronic health records
  • Secure, password-protected systems
  • Encrypted video sessions for virtual therapy
  • Secure disposal of records after the retention period
  • Staff training on privacy and confidentiality

Record Retention

We retain client records in accordance with regulatory requirements:

  • Adult clients: Records are retained for a minimum of 10 years after your last visit
  • Minor clients: Records are retained for 10 years after the client turns 18, or 10 years after the last visit, whichever is longer

After the retention period, records are securely destroyed.

Your Rights

Under PHIPA, you have the right to:

  • Access: Request access to your personal health information
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate information
  • Withdraw consent: Withdraw consent for certain uses of your information (this may affect our ability to provide services)
  • Complaint: File a complaint with the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario if you believe your privacy rights have been violated

Payment Methods

We offer two convenient payment options: Direct Billing and Cash Payment (credit card or e-transfer).

Direct Billing

Available only to Ontario residents.

Please discuss your payment method before your paid session. Before choosing direct billing, make sure that:

  • You are a resident of Ontario, and
  • Your insurance provider is accepted by Chrislo Psychotherapy and Wellness (we do not work with all insurance companies).

If payment details are not discussed in advance with the therapist or clinic administrator, the session fee will be automatically charged to the credit card on file.

Cash Payment

Available to all clients across Canada.

Credit card information will be collected at the end of your initial consultation. Payment will be automatically processed after each paid session.

Packages & Refund Policy

Clients looking for savings may choose from one of our therapy packages available on the website. Full payment for the selected package is required at the end of the first visit.

Please note: Chrislo Psychotherapy and Wellness does not offer refunds for sessions already used or unused, including package purchases.

Confidentiality of Therapy Services

Your therapy sessions are confidential. What you share in therapy stays between you and your therapist, with limited exceptions required by law.
